SIZE INCLUSIVITY

 Introduction

A current issue in industry is that plus sized and tall women only have a limited range of items that are suitable for their size and bodies. This is an issue that the fashion industry can address and change. If smaller brands can have a variety of sizes available for every product, bigger brands should also follow the lead and do so as well. In conducting research, many articles were found to support this idea and added to the credibility of this research. In addition, many amazing interviews based on tall and plus-sized women’s customer experiences were conducted.

The outcome of this research is based on the interviews conducted via Zoom. Due to COVID-19, this was the best solution, as it was not possible to physically meet with every participant. Thanks to Zoom, the participants had the opportunity to share their shopping experiences their struggles.

At first, in the ethics form, it was mentioned that two candidates were going to be interviewed, because it was measurable and fit within the limited time constraints. The work needed to be completed on time and the plan had to be realistic. However, a few weeks later, three more successful interviews were conducted and added to the project.

The three research questions were:


1. “What are the changes that plus size and tall women would like to see in the fashion industry?”

2. “What experiences do plus size and tall women face whenever they go shopping?”
3. “How can we satisfy plus size and tall women?”
